What began as mutual admiration between two bands on the North West DIY circuit has spiralled into one of the most chaotic, over-the-top, and gloriously unnecessary rivalries in recent memory.
This Saturday, June 21st they will compete in a musical TLC match (Tables, Ladders & Chairs.. Oh My) to settle the score at SnailMania. Again.

Winners of last years Ladder Match, Lynskey are a wildly inventive 2 piece from Oldham. They sent us a bio that says that they are “pulling threads from punk, emo, nu-metal, and mathcore to weave together a chaotic yet surprisingly nuanced sound”
We like them very much here at Society Of Losers and bid you go follow their socials, listen to their music and see them live – ideally at SnailMania V.
THE BATTERY FARM
The Battery Farm are a gutter punk band from Manchester, or so they say. “Violent sounds for a violent world” they say.
Lot’s of talk of hell, their latest record is called “The Dark Web” (it’s really good) – you get the idea. They’re REALLY good live aswell.
They just missed out to Lynskey last year at SnailMania…
HOW DID IT COME TO THIS!?
So, basically this all started when Lynskey supported The Battery Farm back in 2023 and they had a bit of a bust up….
The big wigs at Society Of Losers did what any savvy booking committee worth their salt would do: exploited the situation for money and booked them in a Ladder Match at Snailmania IV – it worked, we sold tens upon tens of tickets to Losers curious enough to see exactly how that might work.
It had a bit of everything:
- The Battery Farm jumped Lynksey before the bell even rang.
- Hollywood celebrity Keanu Reeves made a run in
- Lynskey even hit TBF with a cover of their own song – and everything got all emotional.
It was spectacular, stupid and lot’s of fun – better than it had any right being… kind of like Sami Zayn vs. Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania 38. It’ll be going into the ‘Best of SnailMania 1-14’ VHS in a few years for sure.

WHAT IS THE LATEST?
In the final week before SnailMania V, the bands have been giving it a lot of needle on the socials (not to mention a physical fracas at Kaz Stockroom back in February) – most recently B from Lynskey infiltrated The Battery Farms rehearsal space and got trapped. You should check out what happened, it’s all very intense stuff.
A Society Of Losers representative caught up with Lynskey and squeezed this quote out of them…
Coming out of The Void I'm feeling pretty drained, Ben really gave me a lot to think about, and I really hope after all is said and done at Snailmania V we can put it all behind- hahahaaaa fuck that! Battery Farm's got nothing on us! we have always been the better band! we will always be the better band! and on the 21st June at Future Yard, we're gonna do what we do best! we're gonna give the people what they want! we're gonna give them a match, a show, an experience, that they will never fucking forget!
Shortly thereafter, we reached out to The Battery Farm for a response…
